Denim and Lace..How I made my vision come to Life

Hey Ya’ll!

So, I saw this beautiful denim dress that was floating around social media. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and attempt to make it.

Inspiration Dress

I thought that this was so classy and elegant, but I still want to put my own personal touch to it. That’s the beauty of being a designer, you can draw inspiration from one and make it your own.

So I know that I needed 4 parts to this dress: sleeves, bodice, midriff, and skirt. I found a great pattern to use for the first 3 parts (Simplicity 1420) and I self-drafted the skirt portion.

I am going to attempt, in pictures, to provide a tutorial for the dress! (Be Patient with me!!)

So, I cut out my pieces.

Simplicity 1420- Pieces used are only for the bodice, midriff and sleeves

I used Ms Andrea’s tissue fitting method to make sure everything will fit correctly. I placed her button here a few months back.
