My Anniversary Dress M7047

Hey Y’all

This past weekend was the anniversary for my husband and I. In order to celebrate, I wanted to create a special look for this occasion.

If you all remember, I had a box of fabric that came from walmart. It had a beautiful green velvet, and I mean yards of it. So, in looking for the perfect look on Pinterest, I knew what to make.

Inspiration Dress from Pinterest

I went for McCalls 7047, and my vision  came to life.

McCalls 7047

Pattern Description: McCalls 7047

Pattern Sizing:US Size 14,16

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?  Yes it did.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions were very easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the cowl neck in the back of the dress. I felt that it gave the dress a sophisticated, yet graceful look. The cowl wasn’t too low in that the strap of your brassiere wouldn’t show, so that was an absolute plus for me. I loved how the cowl could give a variety of looks for the front of the dress as well.

Fabric Used:  Stretch velvet

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:  I actually didn’t have to make any changes to the design!

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes! The pattern has so many looks with the pieces. It even has a mock wrap back, a cowl back, or plain back. A great design.

This pattern really impressed me. I didn’t have any difficulties whatsoever with the pattern. Its a great pattern to make something fashionable in a small amount of time. I do look forward to making a few more in a variety of colors! I was really impressed with the variety of pieces and looks that this pattern can give.

    1. And you know what, I couldn’t even find the nude heels I had. I went with a black ribbon tie heel. Of course, you couldn’t see them, but just in case. Thank you for stopping by.
